Prague public transportation - tickets

There are two types of tickets - non-transfer (18CZK) and transfer (26CZK). The non-transfer ticket is valid for 20 minutes in trams a nd buses and for 5 stations (excl. the boarding one) in metro. The transfer ticket is valid for 75 minutes (90 minutes at night and on weekends), with any number of transfers possible. You validate such a ticket only in the first bus/tram/metro you use. You can also buy a one-day (100CZK), three-day (330CZK) or five-day (500CZK) ticket. More details can be found on the web page of Prague Public Transport.

Tickets can be bought in PID information centers within the airport (Terminal 1, Terminal 2) in newsstands/tobacconists all over the city or in yellow machines at the bus stops and in metro stations (however you'd need Czech coins in this case).

From the airport to Masarykova kolej (university hotel)

There is a direct bus - line 119, direction Dejvicka - going from the Prague airport to Masarykova kolej. The whole journey takes about 30 minutes. You will need one 26CZK bus ticket.

If you arrive from within the Schengen Area (i.e., to Terminal 2), use the exit C and in front of the building go to the platform C. If you arrive from outside of the Schengen Area (i.e., to Terminal 1), use exit E and in front of the airport follow yellow sign "Bus centrum". Take Bus No 119 and go to the terminal station "Dejvicka".

After arrival to the stop "Dejvicka" you need to go approx. 300m back (opposite to the direction of the arrival). See map:

The address of Masarykova kolej: Thakurova 1, 160 41, Praha 6.

From the main railway station to Masarykova kolej

There is metro station "Hlavni nadrazi" (red line C) accessible from within the main railway station building. Take the metro (direction "Haje") to the station "Muzeum" (it is the next station after "Hlavni nadrazi"). There you change to the green line A (follow the green signs "Prestup A"). Take line A (direction "Dejvicka") to the terminal station "Dejvicka"). Then see the map above.
The journey takes less than 20 minutes; you will need one 26CZK ticket.

From Masarykova kolej to the conference site

Since there are some street reconstructions under way and the tram operation is disturbed, the best way how to go from the Masarykova kolej to the conference site is to use the metro.
The journey takes about 20 minutes; you will need one 26CZK ticket.

Take the metro at the station "Dejvicka" (at the rundabout just besides the terminus of the bus 119 to which you arrived from the airport). T The "Dejvicka" station is the terminal station of the green line A. You take metro (direction "Depo Hostivar") to the station "Mustek". There you change to the yellow line B (follow the yellow signs "Prestup B"). Take line B (direction "Zlicin") to the station "Karlovo namesti".

Exit the "Karlovo namesti" station at the tail of the train: follow the direction "Karlovo namesti" (NOT "Palackeho namesti"). In the hall at the top of the second escalator use the first exit on you right. Then follow the map:

The conference will take place in the university building in Trojanova 13, 120 00, Praha 2.
